COMPANY HISTORY

Reliable Oil Equipment was founded by Douglas C. Badgley in 1960 in Dayton, Ohio. Douglas left his position as a successful sales manager at Buckeye Iron and Brass to take advantage of the opportunities he envisioned in the rapidly expanding petroleum equipment industry.

With a couple thousand dollars in working capital, the business was started and Reliable began the evolution of becoming what it is today. In the early days, the business developed distributor agreements with key manufactures and established total turn key construction and maintenance services.

In the late 1970's and early 1980's, Reliable embraced the new electronic technology which was evolving to handle self service at the pump. Success in selling the new line of Gilbarco products led to the expansion into 3 other major Ohio markets. During this period, the second generation
of family entered the business and transitioned to full management by the mid 1980's.

The late 1980's and 1990's were an exiting time in the industry. New environmental regulations, multi product dispensers, and Pay at the Pump were just some of the driving forces leading a whole new generation of petroleum equipment.

Today, we continue to look for new opportunities to profitably expand our business. Our main focus is to add value to the products we sell by providing superior service and remaining cost efficient.
